CIS football was founded in 1961. In the beginning, it was named as the CIAU football league. There are 27 teams that divided into four conferences that are participating on this competition.

 Those 27 teams from all over Canada are competing in this league. For those college boys, this could be the entrance to enter the real league. The CIS Football league has been named as the number one amateur league in Canada.

 There are so many talent scouts would watch the players and perhaps, they would recruit one of them. For the players, that would be the dream comes true.
