To give some chances for some college football talents to show their guts, in 1961, the football competition between the universities was finally founded. It was named as the CIAU football league. This is the football league that consists of the university teams in Canada. Soon after, the name was changed as the CIS Football league. This is an amateur football league that has 27 teams which are divided into four conferences.

 Those 27 teams from all over Canada are competing in this league. For the players, this is the main gate to the professional career as football players. For them, this is the excellent chances to show the talents as the football players. Those teams would have to play in a long season to complete the whole games. During the season, usually some talent scouts from some professional teams come to watch.

 In Canada there are so many amateur leagues that have their own competition. Each amateur league winner would enter the upper level. Even though amateur, those leagues have some excellent players.

 The CIS football league has been named as one of the best amateur league in Canada. It combines 27 universities into a football competition. For the players, this is the gate to enter the professional career as the professional football player, if they wished to pursue the career as pros.

 That is why; they would play as hard as they could to be the better players. They hope that their actions would be scouted by the pros.
